Why You Can’t Miss Meeting of the Malts V

What could be better than attending an event where nationally acclaimed brewers discuss the future of American craft beer? If you answered that the discussion could take place between an epic beer tasting, a four-course dinner and a craft beer fueled after party (not to forget, souvenir craft beer glassware), you should attend the Meeting of the Malts presented by Wegmans in Bethlehem, Pa., on Thursday, March 24.

This annual meeting of craft beer minds is meant to explore and reflect on the current and future state of the industry, from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts to California. The evening starts with a tasting of brews, featuring a Pennsylvania lineup composed of Stoudt’s, Fegley’s and Iron Hill, among many others. See HERE for line-up.

Later on, discussions will be at the forefront, with Brewers Association CEO & President Bob Pease sharing his thoughts on the industry and previewing the upcoming Craft Brewers Conference. Other speakers at this year’s annual Meeting of the Malts will be heavy-hitters Dick Yuengling, Jim Koch and Ken Grossman. These established brewers will bring extensive knowledge to the discussion and will no doubt offer insight as to where the industry is heading.

They also exemplify determination and a keen business sense; Dick Yuengling bought the brewing company from his family in 1985 after working in the industry for years, Jim Koch quit his day job to start selling Sam Adams and Ken Grossman differentiated Sierra Nevada with a careful eye for quality. All four of these speakers are craft beer pioneers, and the industry would not be experiencing such immense growth if it were not for their leadership qualities, business sense and love of good beer.

If you aspire to share those qualities, pick up a ticket for one or all events and head up to SteelStacks and Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem on Thursday, March 24, to learn—and of course drink!—a thing or two. All proceeds support the Brewers of Pennsylvania.
