About Us

Brewery Techne is located inside Bar Hygge Restaurant and Lounge in the Spring Garden neighborhood of Philadelphia. The name Techne, Greek for craft, is proxy for the hands-on nature of our brewing philosophy and process.

The brewery consists of a 10 barrel, 2-vessel brewhouse with 4 unitanks and 6 serving vessels. We brew inventive interpretations of classic styles and recreations of historical and forgotten beers (such as gotlandsdricka, gruit and sahti ). We always have 9-10 lagers and ales on tap and cask at our bar. We also sell a limited amount of product off-premise and you can typically find our beers at the better beer bars around the city.
